​The balance problem and the limited grid capacity lead to congestion on the grid. The consequences are currently felt in many places in the Netherlands. There is simply no more room on the grid for new sustainable energy projects and new companies. An undesirable situation that not only hinders the energy transition, but also economic growth.
The energy transition of the Netherlands poses major challenges for grid operators. The production of wind and solar energy is accompanied by peaks and troughs. This makes it difficult to keep the electricity grid in balance.
​For a stable energy supply, it is important to keep the frequency of the electricity grid at 50 Hertz. That is why the grid operator is sometimes forced to temporarily stop or reduce the supply of sustainable energy. This is called curtailment and that is a shame because this can be solved with energy storage.

Solution for a stable electricity grid
Energy storage helps to keep the electricity grid stable. Thanks to the buffer function, large fluctuations in energy production or consumption can be easily absorbed.
During peak production, the batteries store the overproduction. When the demand for energy peaks, the batteries supply power to the electricity grid and keep the network stable.
​Energy storage in batteries therefore enables a healthier balance between supply and demand.
The batteries also reduce the need for large-scale investments in network infrastructure at EV charging stations and wind and solar parks.
Space for new connections to the local grid
Our batteries are also a solution for municipalities and locations where companies and sustainable energy projects are waiting for an energy connection. The batteries make it possible to exchange sustainable energy locally. This in turn creates the much-needed space for new connections.
