Battery storage
Eemshaven
Tomorrow Energy has received a permit from the Municipality of Het Hogeland for the construction of a large battery storage system in Eemshaven, called "Holland Battery 1". This system will make an important contribution to the energy transition of the Netherlands by storing sustainable energy and making it available when demand exceeds supply. The battery will be connected to the TenneT station and is expected to be operational in 2027.

The choice for Eemshaven was made consciously, as this location is the energy hub of the Netherlands and is responsible for a third of the national energy supply. This makes it the perfect location for such an innovative project. "We are proud and grateful for the opportunity to realize a project of this size and impact," says Hakkan Yildirim, director of Tomorrow Energy.

The project is now in the phase of intensive collaboration with various partners to further shape the planning, construction and financing. According to Yildirim, "Holland Battery 1" is not only an important step for the company, but also for the energy transition in the Netherlands. It underlines Tomorrow Energy's commitment to play a leading role in the future of sustainable energy with this and other projects.
