The acquisition of the project site in Buggenum (municipality of Leudal) has been officially completed. To finance this, Tomorrow Energy issued bonds through the Duurzaaminvesteren platform. This lays the foundation for the development of a new battery storage system of 11 MW / 44 MWh.
The plot of 3,895 m² at Oude Maasweg 6 is strategically located next to an existing Enexis connection station. The municipality of Leudal has granted an irrevocable environmental permit for the site. In addition, the grid connection has been confirmed by Enexis, ensuring the realization of the project.
With this battery storage system, renewable energy can be used more efficiently. Surpluses of solar or wind power are stored and later supplied back to the grid when electricity demand is high. This ensures a more stable balance and helps prevent the waste of green energy.
With this project, Tomorrow Energy is once again taking an important step in the further integration of energy storage in the Netherlands. The system not only contributes to grid balancing and CO₂ reduction, but also strengthens the reliability of the energy supply in the region.
